Biography
Ian is Emergency Planning & Business Continuity Manager for Lincolnshire County Council. He specialises in event planning and event safety management and has a wide range of event planning experience. He has chaired many event SAG’s and has also facilitated both exercises and structured debriefs for event organisers. He regularly presents on Lincolnshire’s multi-agency approach to event safety at a strategic level and a variety of forums around the country including guest lecturers at the University of Lincoln as part of its Event Management Degree course.He is Chair of the Lincolnshire Event Safety Partnership (LESP) and helped to create the Guide for Event Organisers in Lincolnshire booklet and other associated documents which have since been adopted by a number of other counties. He holds a Diploma in Emergency Planning, an IOSH Certificate in Event Safety Management and has successfully completed courses on Crowd and Applied Crowd Dynamics, Safety Advisory Groups, Crowd Related Emergencies, Safety at Festivals and Mass Gatherings, Safety at Sport & Entertainment Venues, Public Safety at Complex and Built Environments and Temporary Demountable Structures at the Cabinet Office Emergency Planning College.
