Giulio Ongaro
I am post-doctoral fellow at the University "Bicocca" of Milan and adjunct Professor at the University of Verona, Department of Foreign Languages. In February 2015 I achieved the PhD in economic history in the same University . In 2014 I have been visiting scholar at the Ohio State University in Columbus (OH). My research fields are military history, economic history and rural history, with a focus especially on the Republic of Venice in the Early Modern period.

The aim of the paper is to analyse the functioning of weapons’ production in the province of Brescia in the Early Modern period. The article will underline the delicate equilibrium between productive capacity, international market and military and political needs of the Republic of Venice.
