BiographyViktor M. Perelmuter, DSc, received a diploma of the electrical engineer (with honour) from the National Technical University "Kharkov Polytechnic Institute" in 1958. From this time till 2000 he had worked in the Research Electrotechnical Institute, Kharkov/ Ukraine, thyristor drive department, including 1988-2000-as Department chief. He was at the head of elaboration of the power electrical drives for the heavy industry, in particular, for the metallurgy, repeatedly took part in putting these drives into operation at the metallurgical plants. This work was commended with a number of the honorary diplomas. From 1993 to 2000 he severs a director of the Joint venture “Elpriv”at Kharkov. From 1965 to 1998 he served as supervisor under the graduation works in Technical University, Kharkov, and from 1975 to 1985 he served as chairman of the State Examination Committee in Ukrainian Correspondence Polytechnical Institute
Along with his engineering activity, V. Perelmuter leaded the scientific work in the fields of the electrical drives, power electronics, and control systems. He is the author or co-author of 10 books and about 75 articles and holds 19 patents in USSR and Ukraine. He received his PhD (Candidate of the technical sciences) from Electromechanical Institute Moscow, SU, in 1967, his diploma as senior scientific worker (confirmation of the Supreme Promoting Committee by USSR Council of Ministers), 1981, and his DScTech from the Electrical Power Institute, Moscow, SU, 1991.
Since 2001, Dr. V. Perelmuter has been working as Scientific Advisor in the National Technical University "Kharkov Polytechnic Institute” and in Ltd “Jugelectroproject”, Kharkov. He is IEEE Life Member.
