Robert McEachnie is lecturer in history at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Biography

Robert McEachnie has been lecturer of the Ancient World in the History Department at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte since 2013. He teaches classes on Late Antiquity, the Roman Republic and Empire, Christianity, and early Islam. McEachnie also helps lead an archaeological dig with student participation in Jerusalem every summer (digmountzion.uncc.edu). His current research focuses on late antique transformations of culture along religious lines. Using material and textual evidence, the works explore the creation of medieval mental worlds.  His work has been published in Church History, Revue des Études Tardo Antiques, and several edited volumes. He is currently completing an English translation of the Sermons of Chromatius of Aquileia.
