Danny McIntyre
Danny McIntyre is an award-winning composer who has refined his craft through extensive experience as a keyboard player, guitarist, producer, and academic. Danny is currently the Department Chair of Music Composition at Full Sail University and is the CCO of Unified Sounds, one of the premier music production companies currently working in the realms of film, television, and video games.
Biography
Danny McIntyre is an award-winning composer who has mastered his craft through extensive experience as a composer, keyboard player, guitarist, a producer, and an academic. Danny is currently the Department Chair of Music Composition at Full Sail University and is the CCO of Unified Sounds, a premier music production company currently working in the realms of film, television, and video games.His music can be heard on a weekly basis in televised events on CBS and cable networks, including high-profile broadcasts like March Madness, NFL and SEC games and golf, for which he was recently given a SESAC Film and Television Award for his many network performances in the years 2016 and 2017.
Most recently, Danny, in collaboration with his writing partner Steve Cox, composed the score for the highly anticipated PSVR shooter Farpoint, which became the highest selling VR game in history. The score was nominated for a Jerry Goldsmith award for best video game score of the year in 2017.
Danny’s vast musical toolkit was developed through his affinity for a diverse array of musicians, ranging from Miles Davis, to Metallica, to Beethoven. As an educator, “Dr. Mac” has taught at Berklee College of music (music software), Boston University, and the University of Hawaii. He is currently teaching film-scoring courses at Full Sail University where he holds the position of Chair of the Composition Department. When Danny isn't composing or producing music he's often found scuba diving, snorkeling or otherwise enjoying the ocean and springs of Florida with his wife and two sons.
