Michael F. Hoyt, Ph.D. (Yale '76) is a psychologist based in Northern California. An internationally-known author/editor, keynote speaker, and workshop presenter, he is a recipient of the prestigious APF Cummings Psyche Prize and has been honored as a Woodrow Wilson Fellow, as a Distinguished Presenter by the American Psychological Association and the International Association of Marriage and Family Couple Counselors, and as a Contributor of Note by the Milton H. Erickson Foundation.

Biography

After receiving my Ph.D. in 1976 and doing a two-year postdoctoral residency at the University of California-San Francisco, I was for more than three decades a staff psychologist for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California.  I also have authored and edited a dozen books, and have taught numerous workshops and given keynote speeches both across the U.S. and internationally.
    I live in Northern California with Jennifer (my wife) and Maxie (a German shepherd) and Kingster (a Maine coon cat).  We have one son (Alex), who is married.
