Michael Hoyt
Michael F. Hoyt, Ph.D. (Yale '76) is a psychologist based in Northern California. An internationally-known author/editor, keynote speaker, and workshop presenter, he is a recipient of the prestigious APF Cummings Psyche Prize and has been honored as a Woodrow Wilson Fellow, as a Distinguished Presenter by the American Psychological Association and the International Association of Marriage and Family Couple Counselors, and as a Contributor of Note by the Milton H. Erickson Foundation.
Biography
After receiving my Ph.D. in 1976 and doing a two-year postdoctoral residency at the University of California-San Francisco, I was for more than three decades a staff psychologist for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California. I also have authored and edited a dozen books, and have taught numerous workshops and given keynote speeches both across the U.S. and internationally.I live in Northern California with Jennifer (my wife) and Maxie (a German shepherd) and Kingster (a Maine coon cat). We have one son (Alex), who is married.
