Dr. Jacqueline Reid-Walsh studies connections between old and new media in children’s culture. Her research interests center on historical movable books created for and by children. Interactive Books: Playful Media Before Pop-ups connects with an ongoing research project that involves locating, documenting, digitizing and creating interactive 3-D simulations of old fragile movable materials. This is in partnership with Penn State’s Special Collections Library.
