Efthymios Kakouros

Biography

Efthymios Kakouros holds a PhD in Psychology and is a researcher specialized in Developmental Psychopathology. He has been working as a psychologist in mental health services for children and adolescents in Greece and in other countries of Europe since 1983. The main area of his scientific and research interest is in childhood developmental disorders. He is the founder and scientific director of the Psychological Center of Developmental and Learning Disabilities “ARSI” since 1990. With the collaboration of an interdisciplinary team of 18 clinicians, he offers services of diagnosis and treatment of developmental and learning disabilities. He is also Professor of Developmental Psychopathology and Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. He is the co-writer of six scientific books and the editor of two books in the area of Developmental Psychopathology. Most of these books are main course books in the Tertiary Education. In addition, he has contributed fourteen chapters in edited collections. He has published more than fifty papers in Greek and international scientific journals and has presented more than one hundred and fifty papers in Greek and international conferences. Moreover, he has been invited lecturer in many training programs in Greece and other countries of Europe. He has a great number of citations in his published work. He is a member of important Greek and international scientific associations and conference scientific boards and a reviewer in scientific journals. His biography was chosen and presented in Who is Who in Greece in 2012.
