Paul G Fitchett
Paul G. Fitchett is Associate Professor and Assistant Dean for Teacher Education and Innovation at the UNC-Charlotte Cato College of Education. His research interests include the intersections of teacher working conditions, education policy, and student learning outcomes with a particular emphasis on the social studies. Dr. Fitchett’s research has been published in Theory & Research in Social Education, Teachers College Record, and Teaching and Teacher Education.

Biography
Paul G. Fitchett came to UNC Charlotte’s Department of Middle, Secondary, and K12 Education in 2008 after receiving his EdD in Curriculum and Instruction from UNC Chapel Hill. Paul’s research focuses on the intersections of teacher working conditions, education policy, and student learning outcomes with an emphasis on the social studies. He has published in Education Policy, Theory & Research in Social Education, Teachers College Record, and Teaching and Teacher Education. Paul has served in multiple national leadership roles. Most recently, he was elected to the National Council for the Social Studies College and University Faculty Assembly Executive Board. Paul's current research examines the associations among teachers' risk for stress and other vocational concerns including burnout and teacher turnover.Education
