Biography
I have been a full-time academic for just over ten years, having gained my doctorate from the University of Surrey in 2007. Since that time I have concentrated my research on ageing, gender and sexualities, with much of that research focused on the lives and inequalities faced by older LGBT people. I am currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Surrey, where I am also Deputy Head of Department and Director of Learning and Teaching. I am passionate about the potential for Sociology to shed light on and challenge social inequalities and much of my research has a strong impact element.Areas of Research / Professional Expertise
