Tiina Sotkasiira
Tiina Sotkasiira, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Eastern Finland. Her research interests include international migration, integration and migrant settlement in rural communities, racism, social security and Russian studies. Sotkasiira's single-authored book 'Russian Borderlands in Change. North Caucasian youth and the politics of bordering and citizenship' was published by Routledge in 2016.

Biography
Tiina Sotkasiira, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Eastern Finland (Joensuu Campus). Her research interests include international migration, integration and migrant settlement in rural communities, social security as well as Russian studies. Recently, she has focused on international migration into rural and peripheral regions. Sotkasiira publishes regularly in these areas and participates in the work of several research projects and networks. In 2017, Sotkasiira spent six months as a research fellow at the Centre for Russian, Central and East European Studies at the University of Glasgow. She has also worked in Russia and is the board member of Nordic Migration Research Network. Alongside her academic interests, Sotkasiira takes part in civil society and activist networks that deal with above topics, for example, by chairing Joensuu’s local Anti-Racist Working Group. Sotkasiira has a PhD and MA in Social Sciences (Social and Public Policy) from the University of Eastern Finland (previously Joensuu University) and an MSc (Public Order Research and Information Management) from Leicester University.For more information please see my personal website: https://sotkasiira.wordpress.com/
