Biography

I am Professor of Philosophy in the Honors College at Azusa Pacific University,

My research focuses on issues in early modern philosophy, ethics, and philosophy of religion.

In addition to being the co-editor of Hume's Moral Philosophy and Contemporary Psychology, I am the author of Reforming the Art of Living: Nature, Virtue, and Religion in Descartes’s Epistemology, the co-editor of The Ethics of Belief: Individual and Social, and the editor of Turning East: Contemporary Philosophers and the Ancient Christian Faith.

My current research focuses on compassion, community, and culture in Hume and in classical Confucianism.
