Jungian Analyst, Analytical Psychologist, Integrative Psychotherapist. London

I'm a Jungian Analyst, Integrative Psychotherapist and IAAP/BAPPS supervisor based in London, England. Being invited to write C.G. Jung: The Basics was the biggest thrill and the writing itself was a wonderful and deeply fulfilling experience. Writing is such hard work requiring creativity, perseverance and dogged determination in equal measure. Writing makes you think about your subject in whole new ways so as to express precisely what you mean and to craft it into shape. Art and craft.

Biography

I have been in practice as a psychotherapist and then Jungian Analyst for many years working predominantly with individuals.  It is a great privilege to hear peoples' stories, often expressed for the first time ever.  Getting to do this work is the work of individuation which is something I talk about in Chapter 4 of  C.G. Jung: The Basics.   This requires arduous effort and is simply priceless.  It is the unfolding of a soul's journey.

Education

    MA (Jungian & Post-Jungian Studies)

Areas of Research / Professional Expertise

I work with people on a wide range of issues from every manner of abuse to relationship difficulties, to spiritual malaise and depression.   I often work with qualified therapists as well as people training to become psychotherapists.

New Publication!

By: Ruth Williams

I am delighted to announce that my new book has now been published.  It is entitled Exploring Spirituality from a Post-Jungian Perspective: Clinical and Personal Reflections (Routledge 2023).   It ranges from personal experience of my spiritual practice reaching back more than four decades, to clinical vignettes, to what has been called a ground-breaking research project about whether and how Jungian analysts work with soul and spirit. I cover everything from spiritual journey, to ecopsycholgy, mantic (divinatory) practices, suicide/depression and Near Death Experience.  There is much which will be of interest to practitioners as well as those with a lay interest in the topics included in this volume.
