Biography

Linda Nielsen is a Professor of Education at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, NC.  She is an internationally recognized expert on father-daughter relationships and on shared physical custody for children with separated parents. In addition to her many academic articles, she has written three books on father-daughter relationships. For the past 26 years she has been teaching the only college course in the country devoted exclusively to father-daughter relationships. Her research and advice has been featured in a BBC podcast, a PBS documentary, on NPR, as well as in such publications as: the Atlantic & Time magazines, Wall Street Journal, New York Times & Washington Post.  The 2nd edition of her college textbook, Fathers and Daughters: Contemporary Research & Issues, will be published by Routledge in June, 2019.  Her guide book, Between Fathers & Daughters: Enriching & Rebuilding Your Adult Relationship, has been a leading resource for fathers & daughters for more than a decade.
