Rubin, a 2020 National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) Research Award and 2019 Professional Excellence Award winner, received the 2018 NCAA Innovations in Research & Practice Grant and the Big 12 Faculty Fellowship. In 2017, she was named to Diverse: Issues in Higher Education’s Top 25 Woman Leaders in Higher Education. She co-edits the NACADA Journal and serves on the editorial boards of five scholarly journals.

Biography

Lisa M. Rubin is an Assistant Professor of Student Services in Intercollegiate Athletics at Kansas State University, where she serves on the President’s Advisory Committee on Intercollegiate Athletics and Student-Athlete Welfare subcommittee. She received the N4A: National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals’ 2019 Professional Excellence Award. Rubin is a 2018 recipient of the NCAA Innovations in Research and Practice Grant and the Big 12 Faculty Fellowship, invited by the Center for Sports Leadership and Innovation at The University of Texas at Austin. In 2017, Rubin was named one of the Top 25 Woman Leaders in Higher Education by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. She is chair of the NACADA-NCAA Advisory Board, serves on the Board of Directors as Division Director of Professional Development for N4A: National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals, and recently completed her term as secretary/treasurer for the American Educational Research Association’s Research Focus on Education and Sport special interest group. Rubin serves on the editorial boards of NACADA Journal, Journal of Athlete Development and Experience, Journal of Student-Athlete Educational Development and Success, and Journal of Higher Education Athletics and Innovation. Prior to her faculty role, she was a student-athlete services professional at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
