BiographyFrank van Tubergen is a Professor of Sociology at the Department of Sociology, Utrecht University (Netherlands). He studied Sociology and Philosophy in Nijmegen, obtained his PhD at Utrecht University in 2005, and became a member of the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS).
In 2010, he was elected as a fellow of the European Academy of Sociology and as a fellow of the Young Academy of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). He was one of the main coordinators of the highly acclaimed Children of Immigrants Longitudinal Study in Four European Countries (CILS4EU).
His research and teaching interests include immigration, ethnic groups and religion. His work appeared in American Journal of Sociology, American Sociological Review, Social Forces, Demography, European Sociological Review, International Migration Review and Social Science Research. He has received numerous awards for his scientific work.
