Frank van Tubergen

Frank van Tubergen is Professor of Sociology at Utrecht University (Netherlands). He was elected as a fellow of the European Academy of Sociology, and as a fellow of the Young Academy of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. His scientific work is focused on immigration, ethnic groups and religion, and his work has appeared in top journals including American Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, European Sociological Review and Demography.

Biography

Frank van Tubergen is full Professor of Sociology at Utrecht University and the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI). His research interests include immigration and integration, social networks, and religion. He co-coordinated the Children of Immigrants Longitudinal Study in Four European Countries (CILS4EU).

Van Tubergen’s research has been published in journals such as American Sociological Review, European Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, and Demography. His research has been supported by grants from the Dutch National Science Foundation (Veni, Vidi, Gravitation), the European Commission (Norface, Horizon2020), Utrecht University, and the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.

His papers won awards from the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (Ammodo KNAW award), the German Sociological Association, IPUMS, the Dutch Sociological Association, and the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities.

Van Tubergen is affiliated with the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS) and an elected fellow of the European Academy of Sociology.
