Akkadia Ford
Dr Akkadia Ford is a cinematic taxonomist, across interdisciplinary screen cultures. An empirically engaged lecturer and film consultant on issues of genders, sexualities and queer culture, Ford has worked for film production companies in a range of capacities, in broadcast television as a seasonal classifcation offcer and previously as a Festival Director (2009–2012). Areas of research are focused upon transgender representation in flms, transliteracy, queer film, film classification.

Dr Akkadia Ford is a cinematic taxonomist, across interdisciplinary screen cultures.An empirically engaged lecturer and film consultant on issues of genders, sexualities and queer culture, Ford has worked for film production companies in a range of capacities, in broadcast television as a seasonal classifcation offcer and previously as a Festival Director (Queer Fruits Film Festival 2009–2012). Areas of research interest are focused upon transgender representation in films, transliteracy, queer film, film classifcation (ratings systems) in Australia,
UK and USA, gender disruption, film festivals, audiences and issues of spectatorship. Ford is published widely in a range of international journals and as a guest editor on special issues.
