José Calavera
In 1960 I graduated in Civil Engineering , I earned a doctorate in 1967. This year I founded the Technical Institute of Materials and Construction (INTEMAC) an independent quality control organisation that covers design , materials and workmanship in both building and civil engineering. I´m presently the Institute´s Honorary President.
Biography
From 1960 to 1967 I headed the Engineering Department of Tetracero the first Spanish producer of ribbed bars for reinforced concrete.In 1982 I was appointed Professor of the Building and Precasting Department at the Madrid School of Civil Engineering . Now I´m Emeritus Professor.
I am Felow of ACI , ASCE and IABSE . I hold the International federation for Structural Concrete´s (FIB). And I was awarded with the Italian Association´s Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Engineering and the Eduardo Torroja Medal.
I have written fifteen books in Spanish , one in Italian and two in English on structural concrete related subjects
