Having been introduced to forensics through an attorney while teaching engineering courses, Harold soon realized a lack of references in the literature. After gaining considerable experience in the forensic field, he and his son Darren decided to write a book on accident reconstruction. The first book, "Mathematical Methods for Accident Reconstruction" was followed by a more general book on forensic engineering titled "Forensic Engineering Fundamentals" This second book covers the most general types of forensic investigations that are performed. The second book is also geared toward a teaching program in textbook format including a set of worked problems for the instructor.
