I am Professor in the Department of Oncology at McGill University. I was born in the UK and graduated from London University with a Ph.D in Biophysics. After graduation I worked in the United States for several years, mostly in New York City before moving to Canada. At McGill I have been engaged in laboratory research, supervision of graduate students and teaching in the areas of radiation biology, tumor biology, drug delivery and carcinogenesis

Biography
Shirley Lehnert is currently a professor in the Department of Oncology at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She graduated from London University in the UK with a PhD in biophysics. Dr. Lehnert did postdoctoral work at the University of Rochester. She conducted research in radiobiology and biophysics first at Sloane Kettering Institute and then at the Radiological Research Laboratory of Columbia University in New York before moving to Mcgill. Dr. Lehnert has published extensively in the fields of radiation biology, tumor biology, and drug delivery.In addition to research she has been involved in teaching courses in radiation biology, tumor biology and environmental carcinogenesis.
