FEATURED AUTHOR

Kobus Marais

Professor
Department of Linguistics and Language Practice, University of the Free State

I am interested in understanding how societies come to be, in particular new societies like South Africa. When I don't work, I tend to my bonsai collection, jog or read.

Biography

I completed my PhD in 1996 and was then in the 'academic wilderness' for about 10 years. After changing my field of study by doing an MA in Translation Studies, I was appointed at the UFS in 2006.
