Biography

Marcia L. Godwin (Ph.D., Claremont Graduate University, 2000) is Associate Professor of Public Administration at the University of La Verne.  Godwin has extensive experience in local government administration in Southern California and served as Director of the Institutional Review Board at the University of La Verne.  Her research has been published in the Journal of Public Affairs Education, Policy Studies Journal, State and Local Government Review, and other publications.  She also has been a regular contributor to the Roads to Congress series.  She is coeditor, with Sean Foreman, of Local Politics and Mayoral Elections in 21st Century America: The Keys to City Hall (Routledge 2015).

    Research interests include public policy, electoral politics, participatory budgeting, local government innovation, and civic engagement.

    Playing piano, the California and Oregon Coasts, bicycling, golfing.  Non-speaking role in Ph.D.2 the Movie:  Still in Graduate School (2015, filmed at Cal Tech).
