Andrew Banasiewicz
Although for the past 3 years I have been a full-time academician, I spent the prior 15 or so years as an industry analyst, having started my career in early 1990s with the Nielsen Company. My primary areas of expertise are predictive analytics and text mining, particularly as applied to marketing and risk management problems. Along with my university teaching and research duties, I continue to stay actively engaged in industry work, as a founder of Erudite Analytics (www.eruditeanalytics.com).

Biography
Dr. Andrew Banasiewicz is an Associate Professor of the Professional Practice in the department of Administrative Sciences at Boston University, where he also serves as the coordinator of Metropolitan College’s risk management program. Additionally, he is the founder and a principle of Erudite Analytics, a data analytical consultancy and a director of statistical analysis at Liberty Mutual Insurance. Prior to joining the faculty of Boston University, Andrew spent over 15 years in private industry, most recently as SVP of Analytics at a commercial insurance brokerage organization.During his business tenure, Dr. Banasiewicz worked with numerous leading organizations, such as The Coca-Cola Company, ConocoPhillips, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Nabisco, Kellogg, General Motors, GE Money, Nestle Purina, Nevada Power, Marriott International, The World Bank and others. His primary area of expertise is predictive analytics, particularly the design of decision support systems for risk management and marketing, as exemplified by a repurchase predicting adaptive loyalty categorization methodology, or a multi-source data analytical system for estimating the likelihood of adverse development of casualty insurance claims. He wrote three analytics-focused books – Marketing Database Analytics, Risk Profiling of Organizations and Cracking the Code of Executive Risk – in addition to multiple methodological articles and white papers; he is also a frequent speaker at national and international professional associations. He currently resides in Bristol, RI with his wife, Carol, and their three children: Alana, Katrina and Adam.
