Biography

Kaoru Sumi, a leading expert in human-agent interaction and affective technologies, shares insights drawn from decades of interdisciplinary research and practice. After earning her Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo, she held research positions at NICT (National Institute of Information and Communications Technology), Osaka University, and Hitotsubashi University, contributing to a range of innovative projects. She is currently a professor at Future University Hakodate in Japan.

A senior member of IEEE and ACM and an active contributor to international conferences and journals, Professor Sumi is dedicated to bridging research and real-world application. Her mission is to design emotionally intelligent systems that support inclusive and effective learning on a global scale.
