James L. Conyers, Jr., PhD, is university professor of African American Studies and director of the African American Studies Program at the University of Houston. Additionally, he is the editor of the series Africana Studies: A Review of Social Science and Research at Taylor & Francis Group. His most recent publication is Africology: Interdisciplinary Thought and Praxis.
