Biography

Nilanjana Maulik, Ph.D., FAHA, is a professor in the Department of Surgery, University of Connecticut Medical Center, Farmington, Connecticut. She is also a faculty member of the Cell Biology Graduate Program since 2004 at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Professor Maulik’s research focuses on the molecular mechanism of myocardial angiogenesis, ischemia/reperfusion injury, apoptosis, and on the development of cardioprotective strategies, diabetic heart failure, peripheral artery disease, and wound healing. She has published almost 180 original peer-reviewed articles, 35 book chapters, and has edited a book related to epigenetics and human disease.
