Biography

Sabrina Copelli, Associate Professor at the University of Insubria, is a researcher in the fields of Applied Physical Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. After studying Chemical Engineering, she specialized in Industrial Process Safety, earning her PhD in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering with honors at Politecnico di Milano. Professor Copelli’s research spans a wide range of topics, with a primary focus on dust explosion modelling, chemical reactions kinetics studies, chemical reactors simulation, and thermo-chemical stability characterization of reactive mixtures.

Davide Ballinari began is working experience as general worker in a factory for ten years. During that period decided to start his academic career as working-student, achieving his Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering in 2017. In the meantime, he moved to a Fire Reaction Testing Laboratory as inspector and commercial technician, and he earned his Master's Degree in Enviromental and Safety Engineering at University of Insubria in 2023. Under the supervision of Prof. Sabrina Copelli, he is a PhD student specialized in Process Safety Engineering with particular focus on Dust Explosions and Calorimetry.
