"This wonderful book reflects and updates the emphasis of early institutional approaches such as that of Selznick that emphasizes how organizations are infused with value. It is refreshingly focused on purpose at something broader than wealth. Further, at a time when it is increasingly recognized that it is crucial to think of ecosystems rather than individual organizations, the book emphasizes the combined importance of organizations and their members, external stakeholders and multiple academic disciplines in interaction with each other in creating value. The arguments in this book are thoughtfully presented, intriguing and inviting." Jean M. Bartunek, Robert A. and Evelyn J. Ferris Chair, Professor of Management and Organization, Boston College
“This is an important book. It integrates stakeholder theory with the rest of our best thinking about management. There are many practical and researchable ideas within, so that reading and studying this volume will repay multiple efforts." R. Edward Freeman, Bachand University Professor, Darden School, University of Virginia
“Integrating Business, Management and Organisation Scholarship” is a very interesting and useful book for the entire scientific community. In it, the main theories on the concept of value are reconstructed and analyzed, successfully overcoming any barrier or specialism. The insights into the co-creation of value are of particular relevance to my own field of public accountability. Professor Paolo Ricci, Political Science Department, University of Naples Federico II
"Richard Breese takes an all-too-rare ‘deep generalist’ approach to theory development, straddling boundaries between academic fields and making links to management practice. His thoughtful and provocative critique and synthesis of strategic management and marketing theories on value creation make this book a must-read for scholars in these specialisms, amongst others." Professor Jagdish N. Sheth, Kellstadt Professor of Business, Emory University
"Integrating Business, Management and Organisation Scholarship offers a historical, multidisciplinary and comprehensive exploration of the vital concept of value co-creation. Essential reading for anyone seeking to understand how organisations make a meaningful impact, this book deepens our insight into delivering value to stakeholders across diverse contexts." Professor Ofer Zwikael, Australian National University and Associate Editor, International Journal of Project Management
