Biography
Claire Holmes is a school counsellor whose approach is trauma-informed and strength-based. Through her work, she empowers others to access their inner wisdom and innate capacity for healing. As a mindfulness teacher, she weaves meditation into her work alongside expressive therapies and solution-focused interventions. Claire delights in spending time in the great outdoors, running, hiking, and cycling. She is a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide and is passionate about children spending meaningful time in nature and deepening their understanding of the wellbeing benefits it provides.
Claire is the author of the Moving On series, the Staying Well series, and the My Residential School Trip series, and is delighted to add the My Nature Notebook books to her collection.
“In this unique resource, Claire offers a clear and compassionate framework that encourages children and young people, alongside their parents and carers, to explore emotions, tune into their senses, and communicate openly. Through this process, feelings are gently channelled into forming a deep and lasting connection with the natural world. This book will be an invaluable resource for anyone seeking effective and accessible ways to help young people understand their place in the world. Simple yet insightful, it provides a powerful approach to nurturing a meaningful relationship with nature, a timely and hopeful remedy for a generation that increasingly feels anxious and disconnected from it.” - Martin Foakes, Chair of Outdoor Forum for South East Asia Schools and Independent Outdoor Education Consultant
