"A thoughtful and thought provoking run through strategy and options for Higher Education. Very timely given current pressures in the sector."
Andy Neely, Former Senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of Cambridge, UK
"In Strategies for Higher Education Institutions: Resilience and Adaptability, Bassil Yaghi has produced a timely and intellectually rigorous guide for navigating one of the most consequential periods in the history of higher education. Drawing on strategic foresight, scenario planning, and deep institutional analysis, the book challenges leaders to rethink how universities can remain resilient, adaptive, and driven by differential missions in an era shaped by rapidly evolving artificial intelligence, disruptive demographic changes, and shifting public expectations. Yaghi connects long-range futures thinking with practical strategic actions that offer institutions concrete frameworks for decision-making under uncertainty. The work reflects a sophisticated understanding that the future of higher education will depend not only on adopting innovative technologies, but also on preserving the human, civic, and developmental purposes of learning. Strategies for Higher Education Institutions is an essential guide for university presidents, provosts, governing boards, policymakers, strategic planners, and higher education researchers who are responsible for transforming colleges and universities."
