“As sociopolitical pressures rapidly erode opportunities for students with minoritized identities, the fourth edition of Student Engagement in Higher Education equips student affairs leaders with immediate, actionable strategies to safeguard belonging and student success.”
Liliana Garces, Ken McIntyre Professor for Excellence in School Leadership, University of Texas at Austin, USA
“The fourth edition of Student Engagement in Higher Education provides concrete tactics to create morally courageous campuses. Authors reveal how new thinking and systems enhance student engagement. Without avoiding the politically perilous moment, authors espouse asset-based frames to place students first and foremost in our collective mission.”
Michael Gavin, President and CEO, Alliance for Higher Education, USA
“By focusing on student populations with distinct engagement needs, this edition offers a clear, compassionate, and deeply practical roadmap for supporting learners in an era when resources are strained and demands are high. The new problems-of-practice chapters are especially impactful.”
Chris Moody, ACPA-College Student Educators International Executive Director, USA
“Refusing business as usual, Student Engagement in Higher Education renders visible the patterns, logics, and structures that sustain disengagement, and insists that readers reckon with the ethical and relational demands of cultures of engagement.”
Wilson Kwamogi Okello, Associate Professor of Education, The Pennsylvania State University, USA
“Amidst the confusion of our political environment, Quaye and Pendakur’s volume speaks to the reality that higher education institutions have a continued obligation to serve and support all students. Their updated volume speaks to the increasingly complex situations that educators face, offering much needed guidance and insight.”
Julie J. Park, Professor of Education, University of Maryland, USA
