    Biography

    Kampan Mukherjee, after teaching for 35 years at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT ISM) Dhanbad and 7 years at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur as Professor in Operations Management and Decision Sciences, joined Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad as Professor in Operations Management in 2021. He earned his PhD from Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics, and Informatics (formerly MESI) as an Indo-USSR government research scholar in 1988, and in 1998, he was invited for advanced research in LAMSADE, Paris Dauphine University, as Senior Visiting Fellow of Government of France. He published research papers in several reputed journals. He is the recipient of Silver Medal and Best-Case Study Award from the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering in 1992. He was a regular Visiting Professor in Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany. He taught there in 2000-2001 on sabbatical, and in 2004, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013 during summer sessions. As Visiting Professor, he also taught in Curtin Business School, Curtin University of Technology, Australia; Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland; Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria; ESDES Lyon Business School, Catholic University at Lyon, France; and several other universities in Europe, UAE, and also XLRI, IIM Shillong etc in India. He was Dean in both IIT and IIM and established the Department of Management Studies in IIT Dhanbad in 1997. He was conferred Life Time Achievement award in Operations Management by Society of Operations Management in 2012 jointly organized by IIT Delhi, and IIM Lucknow, and Grand Valley State University of the USA.
