Biography

James L. Newell is adjunct professor of politics at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo and founding co-editor of the journal Contemporary Italian Politics. His recent books include European Integration and the Crisis of Social Democracy (Palgrave Macmillan, 2022), Italian Politics: Exploring the Dynamics of Political Change (Routledge, 2024) and The UK’s Road Back to Europe: Actors, Resources, Mechanisms (Palgrave Macmillan, 2025).
