The Screen Readers

About the Series

The proposal is that we establish a series of Readers comprising articles published in ‘Screen’ journal, with introductory editorial material by the editors to add value. Each volume will address a key topic in cinema and media studies, and also areas where the journal has focused its attention, and published articles and special issues that have helped to shape debate. All the articles included in the volumes will already have been through the stringent peer review process required for journal publication, and each volume will include contributions from leading international scholars as well as up-and-coming authors. The first two volumes in the series, ‘World Cinema’ and ‘Queer Cinema’ have already been developed, and the editors are champing at the bit to complete the editing. Future volumes that we have discussed for inclusion in the series are Television, New Media, Race and Ethnicity and Documentary.
