Will Buckingham

Will Buckingham is a writer with a PhD in philosophy and an MA in anthropology. He was the long-time partner of museum studies scholar and educationalist, Dr. Elee Kirk. When Elee was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2016, Will and Elee worked together on a plan for publication of her research in book form. The book, "Snapshots of Museum Experience", was completed after Elee's death. Will also writes philosophy, fiction and creative non-fiction.


Will Buckingham is a writer, philosopher and lecturer based in Leicester in the UK. He has been Associate Professor (Reader) in Writing and Creativity at De Montfort University, Visiting Professor at the Parami Institute, Yangon, and Visiting Associate Professor in the College of Literature and Journalism at Sichuan University.

Will writes both popular and academic philosophy, fiction for adults and children, and also creative non-fiction. He has experience of running philosophy and creative writing workshops everywhere from China to Bulgaria to the UK, in a wide variety of contexts, including hospitals, schools, art colleges and museums.

He is currently freelance, and can often be found elsewhere in the world, pursuing various projects.
