Kayß holds a PhD from the War Studies Department at King's College London. She studied Modern History at King’s College London and History and Comparative Religion at Ruhr University of Bochum, Germany. Kayß has worked for the International Consortium for Research in the Humanities and the German Historical Institute London. In 2015 she was a academic fellow at the Institute for Military History and Social Science of the Bundeswehr. At the moment she teaches International War Studies at the University of Potsdam.
