Biography
Kerry J. Kennedy is a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He is also a Chair Professor and Advisor (Academic Development) at The Education University of Hong Kong. He is the series editor for the Routledge book series, ‘Perspectives on Education in Africa’.
‘By providing a 30-year retrospective and also a focus on future possibilities, this book will make an important contribution in multiple areas: to South African education studies and education policy, but also to decolonisation studies and the role of education in actualising conditions of social justice more broadly. In describing some of the challenges facing education as a vehicle for promoting social justice in post-colonial contexts, this book has the potential to provide inspiration and guidance for governments, institutions, and practitioners seeking to promote social justice.’
Margaret Perrow, Professor of English and English Education, Southern Oregon University, US and author of A Hidden History of Youth Development in South Africa: Learning in Transition (Routledge, 2021)
